Hello! I am Meena from South Korea. I am a professional Korean teacher and passionate language learner. I completed a program on teaching Korean in grad school and since 2013 I’ve been teaching many students from different backgrounds. The majority of my students work in business in Korea but I’m also teaching kids at the moment. I also taught in a Korean Language school in Canada for several months. *My thoughts on learning languages Since my passion is languages, I spend a lot of time watching polyglots’ videos in which they talk about effective ways for learning languages. They have different points of view regarding studying grammar, using flash cards, when to start practicing speaking and so on but one thing they all agree is that you need to do it every day. I couldn’t agree more on this point because I had amazing Spanish teachers before but I didn’t practice every day even though I enjoyed their classes. As a result, I remained in beginner level. *My goal for you, how to get most out of my Korean class What I can help you with is to reach you intermediate level in which you would be able to have daily, casual conversation without any major discomfort. I’m offering you more than just one hour class a week, which means you should do homework after class. I have a system where, aside from our weekly one hour class, you need to commit 10 min a day or more depending on how motivated you are to speak Korean naturally without spending too much time having to recollect what you learned. (Homework can be different depending on goals but the main idea of homework is to have you create relevant content based on what we covered in our previous session and to practice many times to get used to using the language.)

Hello! My name is Heeyoung, and I'm a native Korean living in France with a French husband! Because I lived outside my home country for so long, I deeply relate to those who are going through the same and I enjoy getting to know about my students on a personal level. I've had many students of different levels and nationalities over a course of three years, and I look forward to meeting everyone who's interested in starting or continuing their journey in learning Korean. { TEACHING METHODS } 1. BEGINNERS Goal: Reading Korean effortlessly and feeling comfortable with basic conversation. - Hangeul (Korean alphabets) / Reading words - Pronunciation and intonation correction - Basic grammar including past and future tense / Informal polite form (-요) / Learning how to greet, ask questions and answer, and talk about locations, family, food, weather, your emotions and everyday life / Common expressions / Getting used to the different particles 은/는, 이/가, 을/를 etc. We'll learn basic grammar and sentence structures and practice reading and speaking through short dialogues. I'll be teaching mostly in English at first but I'll start to limit it whenever possible. 2. PRE-INTERMEDIATE ~ INTERMEDIATE Goal: Having longer free conversations about everyday life and on a given topic. - Getting used to different levels of politeness, mainly the honorific form (-시-) and informal casual. - Advanced grammar including reported speech and common sentence endings (-네요, -잖아요, -냐고요? -지요?) For this level, I'll be using textbooks with audios to listen to. I'll only try to use English when explaining grammar or something complicated. 3. ADVANCED Goal: Talking freely and speaking naturally like a native. If uncomfortable or limited in free conversation, I'll offer materials to read or listen to and we'll talk about them together.

Speak From Day 1| Practical and Structured Approach| Instant correction and Feedback | Strategies, Tactics and Habits for Successful Language Learning|Fully Bilingual Teacher in English and Korean| __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Hello, My name is Han. I'm a polyglot with 3 years of teaching experience in English and Korean for people at all levels. Learning foreign languages, has been one of my lifelong pursuits and I have spent tens of thousands of hours on learning different languages including English, French,Spanish and Portuguese. Even though every language is different, there is an effective approach that applies to learning any language. But it always starts with getting clear on goals and the commitment to succeed. Let me make this clear that I can't help you with what goals and commitment. But what I can help you with are some of the most common problems that many students face in language learning. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ So, Let me ask you: 1.Are you frustrated with your lack of progress? 2.Are you new to the Korean language and don't know what to study and how to study? 3.Are you struggling to improve one or more aspects of a language that are holding you back? This could be listening, grammar or vocabulary or even fear. 4.Are you looking for a practical approach to fluency in the shortest amount of time? 5.Are you looking for a teacher who can explain ideas in both English and in Korean fluently? __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ If you answer "Yes" to any of these questions above, you came to the right place. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Here is my commitment for our lessons: 1. I will keep you engaged during our lessons so you can actually practice saying things and have your mistakes corrected almost instantly. 2.I will show you the right tools you need in order to maximize your progress. 3.I will have you accountable for your homework and review and I expect no excuse from students. 4.I will give an honest feedback and suggestion on how to improve. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ So, whether you're a beginner who doesn't know where to begin or an intermediate student who has been struggling with Korean for a long time, book your first lesson and find out about how you can take your proficiency to the next level! See you in class. I'm looking forward to working with you!! __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ *Please note that if a student is absent for a lesson, there will be no refund. For each lesson, it takes preparation on my part and I value my time very much. Should you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, please inform me at least 12 hours in advance. *Also please ensure a good internet connection with a strong signal as well as a clear audio/visual setup.
