Hello, I am teacher Dale and I’m from the United States.
I’ve been teaching English for over 18 years and I have a master’s degree in TESOL. I started teaching in Korea in 2000. In Korea I taught in both public and private schools, but mostly in a public elementary and middle school. I also had duties with the office of education, doing teacher training and organising activities for students.
After Korea I spent a year in Singapore teaching at an international college. Currently I’m the head master at a large international English school here in the Philippines. I’ve been at this school for the past 10 years, and teach students of all ages from many different countries, such as China, Korea, Japan and Vietnam to name a few.
I believe in context teaching, which is teaching by seeing the language in use, rather than just memorizing lists of words. Thus, I not only teach the vocabulary and phrases, I show you how it’s used. I teach grammar the same way, after learning the rules, we practice it in use. I find that this strategy works well with both adults and children.
I’m also qualified to teach both IELTS and TOEIC for speaking, writing, and
I use a wide variety of teaching materials, from books that I wrote myself, to printed material from Oxford and Cambridge, depending on my student’s needs.
Above all though, I keep my lessons fun and interesting, this is essential, because a bored student isn’t a student learning.
Any way that’s my introduction to you.
I Hope to be your teacher!
