Need help with Advanced level English for business or professional reasons ; speaking/writing preparation for any of these tests: IELTS 6.5+, CAE, CPE, OET,PTE ; accent reduction or high level conversation?
What I really enjoy is helping professionals to be able to communicate better at work – not just in business English but in any professional area whether it's for presentations , meetings or small talk and tailoring lessons to exactly your situation!
I also offer speaking and writing preparation for most advanced level tests such as CAE, CPE , IELTS 6.5+ (especially if you're stuck at this level!) and OET/PTE speaking and writing. I used to be an IELTS examiner so I am very good at quickly assessing your level of English and giving you clear steps to improve. I have helped a lot of people prepare for English tests in order to go on to post-graduate courses or to qualify for their professional registration.
All I ask is that you are already at least higher/ upper intermediate level level and motivated to apply what you learn!
My skills and experience will help you to develop your speaking and writing to a more advanced level
• if you need to use English for your job or if you need to prepare for an
exam or interview or presentation
. if you want to reduce your accent, and help native speakers
understand you better
• if you need to learn how to develop your writing in different styles for
but you don’t know how to start
My teaching style is usually described by students as kind, patient, knowledgeable and professional. I like tailoring my content to a student's exact needs and I'm extremely flexible. I enjoy discussing books, art, films, travel and culture.
I've been teaching online since 2016. Prior to that I had 17 years' experience working in private language schools as a teacher and then a coordinator. I'm educated to post-graduate diploma level in social work and gained my certificate in TESOL almost 20 years ago.
I’m originally from the UK and have a clear and easy to understand British English accent but I now live in NZ.
Over my career I've taught students from many different countries-including many who have migrated for work . As a migrant myself I’m very familiar with how it feels to settle into a new country (even though I speak the same language but with a different accent!) , find a job and understand a new culture.
